2019 Water Campaign
This year our water campaign focused on the impact of clean water: when we give clean water, we are giving more than water. Many women and children spend roughly 4 miles a day walking to water, but having a clean water source nearby gives them back their time that they can spend pursuing education, business ventures, time with family and much more!
After our latest team trip to our Makerere project, we decided to focus this years campaign proceeds on water filters. Water filters can be the only source of clean water in the lower city areas as almost no one owns property but instead is renting and cannot build permanent structures, such as water wells, on their land. During our time in March we were able to select five families to train and dedicate the filters to. Each family chosen was chosen based on the criteria of vulnerability level and their homes being open to the community; so that the water would not only alter the lives in their family but the community!
This year we were able to collectively raise nearly $12,000! Thank you to everyone who partnered with us in our vision to see communities develop through the love of Jesus in providing clean water!
